5 Ways To Get More Email Subscribers On Your Website

Email subscribers are like gold in the online world.

When someone opts in to your email program they are giving you permission to you to share information with them including marketing information.

That’s a huge step in the sales process. The person might not be ready to purchase something from you right away, but when they signup for your email program they’re giving you permission to earn their trust so they will purchase in the future.

And your current customers are a source of more revenue as well. They’re already purchased from you. By using your email you can earn more business and more referrals.

If you’re looking to get your email program into full gear then we’ve got five tips to help you get more email subscribers.

1. Setup Automated Blog Subscriptions

The easiest way to build your email subscribers is to setup and automated blog subscription email program. You can do this with any of the major (or minor) email service providers.

You take your blog feed and add it to a broadcast system with the email service. Then your posts will be turned into full post emails or snippet emails with links to your blog.

If your content is good enough people will subscribe so they don’t miss out on any of your posts.

2. Offer A Free Download

Sarah and I have both had success offering a free download on our sites. We created guides to help out our target customers when they’re in the early stages of our sales cycles.

The free download gives visitors that aren’t’ yet ready to purchase something they can get now without making a purchase.

The download helps to build trust and you can move them down the sales funnel with your email program.

When users signup for an email list they feel they are giving something they own away to you. They don’t often do that for free. They expect something in return.

Make it worth the while with a valuable download.

3. Host Webinars and Online Events

Webinars and similar online events have become popular the last few years. The reason companies put on these one-hour events is so they can connect with their target customers, but even more than that it’s a way to build an email list.

Webinars require signup and when you signup to watch a webinar with great content you’re giving the company permission to add you to their email list.

It’s a great way to offer something and get an email address in return.

4. Create A Video Series

Video is blowing up online. People are watching more video than ever.

Create a video series that will entice people to signup for updates. It’s similar to the blogging strategy.

The video doesn’t have to be anything crazy to start out. It could include a few tips each week or a few recommendations for your ideal customer.

You have plenty of knowledge they would like to have and they’ll give you their email address if you share your knowledge with them.

5. Add A Signup Form On Your About Page

This one is a little more off beat, but I think it could work well.

When someone visits your site in the early stages of the buying cycle they’re going to look at pages like your about page. They’re just getting to know you and they’re probably not yet ready to purchase.

One way to capture their information is to ask for their email address on pages like your about page.

You can offer a download or make a promise to send them more information about yourself.

It’s another way to get early stage prospects into your email program so you can earn their trust and their business.

Hopefully these tips will help you build your email program.

It starts with the first subscriber, then the next 100. From there you can build and build until you’re bringing in regular business as a result of your efforts.
